Kayaking With Hawaiian Green Sea Turtles
Kayaking is a fun and exciting way to see Maui. There are a lot of locations you can’t get to by car or foot. You can easily reach these scenic spots by paddling from any number of beaches. If you aren’t confident paddling in a kayak there are activity companies and kayak guides that can help you. These enthusiastic guides are great at pointing out Hawaiian Green Sea Turtles (honu), tropical fish and other abundant marine life. Not to mention, most are proficient in water safety, First Aid and CPR certified.
One of the reasons to explore kayaking on your next Maui adventure, is the sea life! We recommend early morning paddling as visibility is the best. We visited a local company Aqualani for kayak rentals. Yes, they also offer surf lessons and much more. Here are a few photos from our last kayak adventure! Click here for our Instagram video featuring some awesome turtles spotted along our adventure.
You can always count on seeing Hawaiian Green Sea Turtles when you kayak in front of the Grand Wailea Resort. Be sure to bring a Go Pro with a waterproof case so you can capture photos just like these.
We recommend going to Aqualani at the Grand Wailea Resort. You will have to arrive early to get checked in and do a beach training session that will give you an idea of how to get in and out of the kayak. We also would make sure you park just past the Grand Wailea Resort at the beach parking it’s right past the second entrance at the resort right at the top of the hill.
