Happy Hour at Fleetwood’s on Front Street in Lahaina

Located in the historic town of Lahaina is a hot, new Happy Hour.

If you’re looking for a fun and flavorful way to spend an evening, visit Fleetwood’s on Front Street for happy hour. Steps from the ocean, in the heart of Lahaina you’ll find legendary drummer Mick Fleetwood’s eponymous restaurant.

Every day between 2-5pm, Fleetwood’s features special prices on food, beer, wine and specialty cocktails. Pull up a seat at the lively bar or settle into one of the soft, leather chairs or couches in the lounge area. Maui Travel Blog Tip: grab a seat on the couch near the far end of the bar…it was handpicked from Mick’s home!

The happy hour menu has something for everyone to enjoy. We heard the oysters on the half shell (at $1 each) are one of the most popular items and being seafood fans, we couldn’t pass up such a great deal! Served over ice, the oysters come with a housemade cocktail sauce and horseradish. Oysters are a natural aphrodisiac so you may want to cool down with one of Fleetwood’s specialty cocktails, The Thomas. Made with Ocean Vodka (an organic Maui made favorite), hand-muddled cucumber, lavender, lime juice and fresh mint this refreshing cocktail is a must!

The Fleetwood Smash

For those who enjoy the sweeter things in life, The Fleetwood Smash hits the spot. This fizzy cocktail contains fresh Kula strawberries, dry Thai basil (muddled to extract the oils from the leaves), fresh lemon juice, simple syrup and a shot of Ketel One Oranje (orange flavored vodka). Our bartender Jessica topped this brightly colored cocktail with a splash of soda water for effervescence to release all the flavors, gave it a little shake, poured over ice and garnished the glass with a strawberry.

Crab Mac & Cheese please!

Fleetwood’s Executive Chef Eric Morrissette nailed this comfort food favorite. Served in an iron skillet and made with cheddar Béchamel and Old Bay seasoning this hearty dish isn’t short on flavor or crab meat! The texture of the crunchy exterior complemented the creamy interior and the portion was plenty for sharing. After a couple bites, this quickly became one of our favorite versions of mac & cheese on island.

Jessica reached for a bottle of red and said “you’d think rock and roll stars love whiskey and bourbon, but in fact Mick has a passion for wine.” We learned that Mick Fleetwood has his own line of wine and the 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon from Santa Barbara we tried was delicious! Maui Travel Blog Tip: enjoy this wine by the glass half priced during happy hour.

This happy hour is a great option for Maui visitors and  residents alike. The family friendly atmosphere, delicious cuisine and attentive staff made the experience memorable. In addition to the daily happy hour, Fleetwood’s on Front Street serves dinner from 5-10pm on both levels of the restaurant. Maui Travel Blog Tip: make a reservation on the rooftop dining area around 5:30/6pm and enjoy amazing sunset views! Happy Hour at Nick’s Fishmarket Maui

Nick's Fishmarket Maui

When in Wailea do as the Waileans do, visit Nick’s Fishmarket Maui for Happy Hour. Located at the Fairmont Kea Lani (Hawaii’s only all-suite and villa ocean front resort) Nick’s (as the locals call it) boasts breathtaking sunset views, friendly staff, an award-winning wine cellar and delicious food!

Settle into a seat at the bar (insider tip: sit facing the outside of the restaurant for those perfect sunset views) and order a Nick’s Mai Tai. At $6 this popular cocktail doesn’t leave you feeling like you compromised quality for value. In addition to specialty drinks, Nick’s serves up local brews from Big Island and Maui starting at $5 and wines by the glass starting at $7.

Now, on to the food! We ordered a few dishes to make sure we experienced most of the happy hour menu. And with a very affordable price tag, we didn’t blink an eye. By far, the Calamari Fritte was cooked to perfection. You can’t help but to moan (quietly) as you savor the chewy interior and crispy (not overly fried) exterior which is drizzled with a Chipotle Aioli. A flavorful Wasabi Cocktail Sauce was a nice alternative to the traditional dipping sauce. Bravo to the chef for mastering and putting a nice twist on this Italian classic.

Incorporating traditional Hawaiian specialties, Nick’s Fishmarket in Wailea also serves Kalua Pig Pot Stickers on the happy hour menu. This $7 dish is the perfect blend of sweet and savory with caramelized Maui pineapple curry and cabbage slaw. Salad lovers will swoon over the Maui Wowie, Nick’s version of a chopped salad made with Maui Onions, romaine, tomatoes, tiger shrimp, avocado, feta, pepperoncini and olives in a caper vinaigrette. The accommodating wait staff will even split it for parties of two. This is the most “expensive” dish at $11 and a medley of the best Mediterranean flavors. We also recommend the Oyster Shooters if your palette is adventurous or you’re on a date 😉

We hope your mouths are watering and you’ve made a note to add Nick’s Fishmarket in Wailea to your list of Maui restaurants.

Happy Hour at Nick’s Fishmarket in Wailea happens seven days a week (yes, you read that correctly) from 5-7pm at the bar/lounge area. Dinner is also available from 5:30-9:45pm nightly. Reservations are recommended, call 808-879-7224.
